From the developers of Foxhole comes Anvil Empires, a massive multiplayer experience where thousands of players shape a persistent medieval world through war, conquest, and empire building. Beginning June 2nd, players can dive into Anvil Empires’ public demo as part of Steam Next Fest, featuring a special 1000-player battle test designed to push the game’s cutting-edge server technology to its limits.

Anvil Empires is a massively multiplayer game where thousands of players work together to build empires, wage war, and conquer in a persistent online world. March alongside armies of players in massive melee battles and large-scale sieges.

Experience the future of large-scale MMO gameplay by joining the Anvil Empires demo, available for a limited time. Whether you’re helping construct a frontier town, establishing vital trade routes, or leading a siege on enemy fortifications, your actions have a lasting impact in a world that never resets.

What is Anvil Empires about?

Take command of catapults, battering rams, and siege towers in Anvil Empires as you march alongside an army of real players—or man the ramparts for a desperate last stand behind your Keep’s crumbling walls. This is warfare on a scale rarely seen in online gaming, where strategy, logistics, and coordination define the path to victory.

Build settlements and grow them from small hamlets into large bustling towns shared by dozens if not hundreds of players. Engage in farming, hunting, husbandry and more to support the war effort. Trade with nearby player settlements to further optimize your economy. Design and build elaborate, multi-level keeps and fortresses for withstanding prolonged sieges.

Play in a large-scale game of conquest that takes weeks to play out. Wage war alongside thousands of players across a persistent online world. Custom server technology enables up to 1000 players to fight shoulder to shoulder in a massive real-time melee battle. Battles are organically instigated by players in an open-world sandbox.

Establish supply camps and logistics lines to keep player armies well fed, armed, and rested. Battles are won through strength of arms and require a strong economy and supply chain. Build siege camps in preparation for large-scale assaults on enemy strongholds. Construct equipment like siege ladders and battering rams to breach fortified walls and keep.

Key Features Summed Up:
  • Persistent World Warfare – Thousands of players shape a single shared medieval world through diplomacy, logistics, and all-out war.
  • 1000-Player Real-Time Battles – Take part in stress tests of Anvil’s custom-built server tech during Steam Next Fest.
  • Siege Warfare Reimagined – Deploy siege engines and coordinate massive attacks—or hold your Keep with grit and grit alone.
  • Deep Logistics Gameplay – Supply lines and infrastructure matter as much as swordplay—every crate, cart, and farm counts.

Siege Camp is an independent game studio best known for Foxhole, a persistent world war game in which players coordinate logistics and strategy across a living battlefield. With Anvil Empires, the team pushes its vision further, toward a new frontier of real-time, player-driven MMO warfare.

You can wishlist Anvil Empires on Steam to be notified of future updates.
