Mercy For None is at the top of my list regarding new Korean content (K-content) released in 2025 on Netflix. Based on the webtoon of the same name, So Ji-Sub stars as Nam Ki-jun, a man forced back into the brutal underworld he desperately tried to escape. Like many action stories, Ki-jun is pulled back into his past violent life to avenge the tragic death of his younger brother, Nam Ki-seok (Lee Jun-hyuk).

But this isn’t your traditional, “former killer got out and has to come back” story. Nam Ki-jun went as far as severing his own Achilles tendon to leave that life behind eleven years ago. This K-drama already looks to be an action-filled series akin to revenge series like My Name

In the season’s latest trailer, we get a somber scene at his brother’s funeral, immediately setting the tone for Ki-jun’s grief-fueled quest for truth and retribution. His chilling resolve to hunt down everyone responsible, no matter if they’re friends or family, shows he means business. And yes, his signature baseball bat is back in action, promising a plethora of intense fight sequences! His determination is unwavering, hinting at a ruthless battle that won’t end until justice is served.

Mercy For None Cast & Characters

The trailer also gives us a closer look at the intriguing characters who will either help or hinder Ki-jun’s mission:

  • Gong Myoung as Koo Jun-Mo: The heir to Bong-San, flashing an eerie, blood-splattered smile.
  • Choo Young Woo as Lee Geum-Son: A prosecutor and son of Lee Joo-Woon, whose hidden ambitions are slowly coming to light.
  • An Kil-kang as Koo Bong-San : The furious head of Bong-San, brimming with rage.
  • Cho Han-cheul as Choi Sung-Chul: Lee Joo-woon’s loyal right-hand man.
  • Cha Seung Won as Cha Young-Do : A shadowy underworld figure who senses Ki-jun’s return.

Intense Action and Unyielding Resolve

Alongside the trailer, Netflix also revealed new key art that perfectly captures Nam Ki-jun’s unyielding pursuit of vengeance. His blank expression and clenched fist are a clear indication of the brutal, cold-blooded action scenes we can expect.

Mercy For None promises to be a gritty action series where schemes, conspiracies, betrayal, and ruthless revenge collide. It’s all about characters who are laser-focused on their goals with absolutely no room for compromise.

Mercy For None releases exclusively on Netflix June 6, 2025.
