Premiering June 20, 2025, K-Pop Demon Hunters is one of Netflix’s latest animated series. Korean animation house Studio MIR has been a mainstay on both supporting animation and original animation for Netflix’s adult animation slate (including The Witcher, DOTA, and Devil May Cry to name a few). Still, the streamer is expanding its Korean animation in 2025, first with the feature film Lost in Starlight, from Climax Studio. Only, K-Pop Demon Hunters isn’t produced by a Korean animation studio, but Sony Pictures Animation, whose last Netflix project was Wish Dragon.

This animated film is directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, produced by Michelle L.M. Wong, p.g.a., and features a screenplay from Danya Jimenez & Hannah McMechan and Maggie and Appelhans, and finally a story by Kang.

Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet – an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.”
