Polish indie studio Polished Games invites players to rise from the grave and join a shambling mob in the latest update for its top-down 2D survival roguelite, Be My Horde. Oh, and of course, you get to be the Lich Queen herself, Moriana. The new content in the Welcome to Hell Update follows the necromancer Moriana’s banishment to the raging inferno. To survive, she’ll need to amass her faithful undead followers, utilize her powers of necromancy, and battle her way through the damned.

Be My Horde pushes players to embrace their inner villain. In it, players step into the role of the seductively maniacal Moriana, a powerful Lich whose ultimate goal is to bring the world of the living to its knees. Voiced by the talented Amber Lee Connors (Guilty Gear: Strive, Genshin Impact), Moriana’s motives remain a mystery, though it’s safe to assume they’re not benevolent.
Aid Moriana in her sordid quest and raise a malevolent army of undead minions by resurrecting every fallen enemy. Whether it’s a weak peasant, a fierce warrior, a noble knight, or even a sheep, players will devour the souls of defeated foes and add their bodies to an ever-expanding horde. As villainous as she is beautiful, embrace your dark side with Moriana.

Enemies are your resource: Resurrect each fallen enemy to make your malevolent army bigger and stronger
Your horde is made of…everyone: Encounter a variety of units from weak peasants, aggressive warriors, powerful knights, swift cavalrymen, or…exploding sheep! If something is alive, you can kill it and add it to your horde.
Death doesn’t stop you: Return to your Dominion after each defeat and use the harvested souls to improve your minions and necromancy powers, returning to the battlefield even more formidable.

Welcome to Hell! What’s new in the Update?
The Welcome to Hell Update will significantly expand the base game by introducing a new level: Hell. This perilous new environment features hazards such as fire tornadoes, lava ponds, and explosive volcanoes. Moriana will also face six new enemy types, culminating in a showdown with the Lord of the Underworld himself: the Devil.
The update introduces three new abilities to aid Moriana in her fiery descent: Frost Nova, Frost Bolt, and Blizzard, which will help her maintain control amidst the chaos. Additionally, a new skill tree mechanic allows players to spend collected souls to increase the power and effectiveness of their undead minions.
Adding to the game’s voice cast, Jacob Browning (Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat, SMITE) joins as The Devil. Players can anticipate engaging dialogue between the ruler of Hell and the Lich queen, who is intent on crushing him under her heels.
The launch of the Welcome to Hell update coincides with a 20% off sale, the title’s largest discount to date.
Be My Horde is available now on Windows PC via Steam Early Access. This title is also officially Steam Deck Verified.
