IO Interactive, the independent video game developer and publisher behind, among others, the internationally acclaimed Hitman franchise, debuted a new trailer for Hitman World of Assassination on PS VR2 in the recent VR Games Showcase.

The trailer offers viewers a look at new VR gameplay of the award-winning immersive stealth game ahead of its March 27 PlayStation VR2 release. Players will look through the eyes of the world’s greatest assassin, now in the 4K HDR display of PS VR2, in exploring surroundings, disguising themselves, and striking when the time is right.

It looks like the delay in the release date has paid off. Initially slated for December 2024, the launch of Hitman World of Assassination on PS VR2 was rescheduled to March 27th, 2025. The time taken to polish the game, add additional items, and work hard to produce something that fans of the Hitman franchise will love is no small undertaking, and this VR trailer shows us what we should get hyped up about.

What to expect in Hitman World of Assassination?

Hitman World of Assassination brings together the best of Hitman 1, Hitman 2 and Hitman 3 in a bundle that showcases the very best of the legendary stealth series. The PS VR2 release will support the original main campaign’s 22 unique locations and add a variety of immersive VR-specific mechanics. Whether it’s picking locks to reach a vantage point, switching on a generator to provide a timely distraction, or knocking out two guards in a single movement, players will now have exponentially more ways to unleash their creativity in the World of Assassination.

As they live out Agent 47’s greatest adventures like never before, players can dual-wield an arsenal of over 100 different weapons and intuitively perform key movements with full ambidexterity, such as reloading, holstering, aiming sniper rifles, and stealing disguises.

In addition, PS VR2 provides new and unique technical capabilities with adaptive trigger support through the PS VR2 controllers, room-scale implementation, spatial interactions to touch, and more.

New players will be able to get access to the PlayStation VR2 version through HITMAN WOA Part One – VR2 Edition, giving access to HITMAN Part One and the PS VR2 Upgrade Pack for $39,99, €39,99, or £32.99.
