Netflix renews XO Kitty – the spinoff series inspired by the popular To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film franchise – for a third season.

Given the numbers, it’s no wonder why. XO Kitty Season 2 premiered on January 16, 2025 and debuted at #2 on the English TV List with 14.2 million views — bringing back Season 1 at No. 6 with 3.1 million views — and the original 2018 film that introduced us to Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart), To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, reappeared at No. 6 on the English films list (3.1 million views) the week after. The Young Adult Romantic Comedy series, which Awesomeness Studios and ACE Entertainment produced, appeared in the Top 10 in 89 countries in its first week.

“I’m so excited to head back to Seoul for another season with our incredible cast and crew. If you thought junior year at KISS brought the drama…just wait,” XO Kitty Showrunner, Executive Producer & Writer Jessica O’Toole shared. “I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, but I can promise season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode — not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure…and kissing. Lots of kissing.”

Season 3 details and additional information will be shared at a later time.

What happened in XO Kitty Season 2?

In Season 2, teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey returns back in Seoul for a new semester at KISS. She’s single for the first time in a long time and ready for a fresh start: no more meddling, no more drama. Maybe just some casual dating. Emphasis on casual.

But she has more to worry about than her love life. A letter from her mother’s past sets her on a wild journey, and new faces at KISS bring change. As secrets unravel and bonds are tested, Kitty will learn that life, family, and love are more complicated than she ever imagined.

Our reviewer had mostly positive thoughts about the latest season: “Even with all of XO Kitty Season 2’s technical faults, crazy fake loves and cheesy storylines, there’s always enough charm and drama to hook and reel audiences back in for a binge-worthy watch. This show’s strengths are kept intact, with Kitty wanting to know more about her mom’s teenhood and potentially long-lost family members. Yes, Kitty wants to find a romantic connection with someone from school, but she never jeopardizes her family’s goals.

With shocking twists and reveals, XO Kitty Season 2 may even get viewers with a few tear-jerking moments, too.”

Needless to say, there’s plenty of time for fans to dive into a rewatch of both seasons of XO Kitty before its third season. And maybe, just maybe, Kitty Song Covey will find the love she seeks! Third time’s the charm, after all!
