Titan Forge Games announced that SMITE 2 enters its 24/7 Closed Alpha stage today. Players are now invited to play any time and test new Gods and features added to the game.

Previously held Alpha Weekends helped Titan Forge improve SMITE 2 based on community feedback. The studio is starting a new phase to test and iterate on new systems, such as player progression and ranked matches, and to address any issues that arise from long-term play so that SMITE 2 is enjoyable to play for thousands of hours.

Players will now gain access to God progression and Ascension Passes, which let players unlock exclusive cosmetics and other rewards for the Gods they play. Ascension Passes for specific Gods can be obtained via Deluxe and Ultimate Founder’s Editions and purchased separately. Competitive players can now participate in the first test season of Ranked matches called “Ranked Test Season.”

Two new Gods will be added to the game, bringing the total number of playable Gods to 23. Mordred, the Breaker of the Round Table, is a brand-new God joining the Arthurian pantheon. Clad in heavy armor but scarred grievously, this dark knight introduces a unique combat style, with one of his swords focused on Strength and another – on Intelligence. Jing Wei is a figure from Chinese mythology, a princess reborn as a bird. In SMITE 2, Jing Wei is a versatile shooter who excels at hunting enemies from a distance, dodging attacks, and quickly returning to the battlefield from the base.

Titan Forge Games reminds players that the game is still in its early development stage, with more content to come. SMITE 2’s 24/7 Closed Beta testing is expected to start later in 2024, with tutorials available to new players. The full Free-to-Play Open Beta is planned to begin in 2025.

For guaranteed access to the closed testing, the Founder’s Edition can be purchased on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Epic Games Store. Players can also wishlist SMITE 2 on Steam and register to participate in alpha testing on the official website. More information about SMITE 2 can be found in the official FAQ and via X, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
