What To Expect From ‘Invincible’ Season 3

Brutal action, heart-rending emotion, and a narrative that never stops twisting are all things Invincible has become known for. And life doesn’t look like it will get any calmer for Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun). If you are here, you can’t wait to discover what’s in store for Invincible Season 3. So, let’s get into it.

Mark’s first battle comes when a systemic attack on Earth’s heroes leaves the planet nearly defenseless. Only Invincible and Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs) are free since neither operates out of a known location. While their rescue mission to save their comrades goes awry, the day is ultimately saved by an unlikely character. Someone from the show’s past makes a surprise return. Flanked by the creations Sinclair has been working on, the returning character’s presence drives another wedge between Mark and Cecil (Walton Goggins).

The growing breach between Mark and Cecil expands when a confrontation between them turns violent. It’s revealed that Cecil has been up to more questionable actions, preparing a failsafe against Mark. This betrayal of trust throws everything into doubt as the personal battle eventually spirals out of control, drawing in The Guardians of the Globe.

With Cecil’s stock at an all-time low, if Invincible Season 3 follows the source material, it will take a moment to dive into the controversial character’s past. We’ll see who Cecil was as a young agent, as well as his first meeting with Omni-Man  (J.K. Simmons).

Invincible Season 3

As if all these global problems weren’t enough for Mark, the situation at home doesn’t look any calmer. Oliver’s rapid growth will see him becoming a precocious young boy who wants to follow in his dad’s footsteps. Not having the same image of his father as everyone else, Mark will have his hands full, reining Oliver in as the young boy tests his boundaries and begins forming his view of the world.

But while there are a lot of struggles in store for Invincible Season 3, at least one good thing seems inevitable. Mark and Eve should finally be getting together. After the tragic ending of his relationship with Amber, his rediscovery of his connection with Eve was all but inevitable.

With all the pain, struggle, and turmoil that fills the moments of this series, having someone as strong as Eve with Mark feels like the perfect fit. Amber’s not cut out for the superhero life. Even though she always supports Mark. On the other hand, Eve was made for it. Eve’s full power will be seen when a threat comes true, and a new foe shakes Mark’s world to its core.

And that just covers the bulk of what to expect on Earth.

In outer space, Allen’s (Seth Rogen) plan to infiltrate the Viltrumite’s ship continues to bear fruit. With his proximity to the captured Omni-Man, the duo can make a plan to escape, setting Nolan up to help fight the war against his former people. Invincible Season 3 will also bring some big reveals about the Empire through Nolan’s time with Allen. The true nature of the Viltrumite’s rule is likely to surprise many fans.

These are the biggest and most likely plot beats to feature in Invincible Season 3. I’ve only laid out the outlines for them here. The details bring so much to the ongoing story I’d have to write a novel to cover them all. Fans will just have to hang in there until the series returns.

Or get in touch with their local comic shop to ask about picking up the story from the graphic novels. If this option interests you, but you don’t want to read the whole series, the next season will start with Volume 10. However, there will probably be some differences in the story.

Invincible Season 3 streams on Prime Video beginning February 6, 2026.
