Watch The Unsettling Teaser Trailer for ‘Longlegs’

Sometimes, when it comes to horror, minimalism works best. At least in terms of marketing. This is made abundantly clear in the new teaser trailer for Longlegs. Maika Monroe stars in the film from NEON in a trailer that stirs up unease without any dialogue. Directed by Oz Perkins (I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, Gretel & Hansel,) the film has already created buzz through its previously released teaser posters that starkly depict the nightmares that await filmgoers.

The teaser continues to unsettle with plenty of shocking, macabre imagery that gets underneath our skin. The less is more approach works with swift jump cuts. For horror fans, the film, at least for now, promises little reveals in preparation for the release. While some films are certainly suited to excess, it’s nice to see an initial trailer that isn’t four minutes long and gives away the entirety of the plot.

Monroe and Nicolas Cage both star. Monroe has made a name for herself in independent horror films such as It Follows, The Guest, and 2022’s Watcher. Meanwhile, Cage has been in a reinvention era, tackling many strong horror films such as Mandy and Color Out of Space.
