L.A. Slasher — January 5

A cultural crusader strikes in L.A. Slasher, following the titular killer who targets and abducts reality T.V. stars. Directed by Martin Owen, the black comedy stars Mischa Barton (The O.C.), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Danny Trejo (Machete), and comedian Andy Dick as the voice of the killer.

Underground — January 9

Inspired by true events, the found footage nightmare directed by Lars Janssen finds a bachelorette party trapped in a World War II bunker complex in this SCREAMBOX exclusive. The film follows their nightmarish attempts at escape.

Horror in the High Desert and Horror in the High Desert 2 — January 16

Directed by Dutch Marich, the unsettling found footage franchise delves into mysterious disappearances in the Nevada wilderness. Horror in the High Desert adopts a documentarian style approach as the story investigates the disappearance of one hiker through interviews with friends and family. The sequel follows a new set of tragedies as characters try to determine if they’re linked to the first disappearnce in the previous film.

Demons and Demons 2 — January 23

Produced by master of horror Dario Argento, the high-octane ’80s horror classics feature practical effects by Sergio Stivaletti (Phenomena, Cemetery Man). Demons follows two female university students who become trapped in a theater with a horde of ravenous demons. In contrast, Demons 2 brings the horror home as the demons can invade the real world through television broadcasts.

Other January highlights include: When Darkness Falls, a psychological thriller filmed in the Scottish Highlands; coming-of-age Halloween horror They See You; Italian supernatural outing 42-66: Origin of Evil; backwoods butchery Ash and Bone, and the anthology series The Dead Hour.

Start screaming now with SCREAMBOX on iOS, Android, Apple T.V., Prime Video, Roku, YouTube T.V., Samsung, Comcast, Cox, and Screambox.com.
