Have you been wanting to dig deep into the lore of Warhaven? Now is your chance. Nexon is very pleased to bring the story of Warhaven to a new format, the Webtoon! Starting on September 6, the first episode of a 10-part series will debut in Korean on Naver, followed by a Simplified Chinese version on September 9 and a Traditional Chinese version on September 11. An English version will also be available on September 10 on Naver’s English sister site, Webtoons.
The webtoon is a 10-part story that will follow imaginary “real-world” individuals who awaken in the world of Warhaven and will have to cooperate to complete a dark, revenge-driven plot. Each episode’s narrative will feature in-game locations and characters players will face when playing Warhaven. With themes of desperation, heroism, unity, and sacrifice, these webtoons will resonate with gamers and prepare them to face their challenges when Warhaven launches into early access on September 21 at 10 am KST (September 20 at 6 pm PST / September 21, 3 am CEST).
Revealed during Opening Night Live at gamescom, Warhaven will launch into early access on September 20 in the Americas and September 21 in the rest of the world.. Heralding this announcement, Warhaven shared a new cinematic trailer featuring Blade, one of the characters available for players to choose from in the game. This gorgeous cinematic trailer revealed a deeper story behind Blade’s motivation for entering the fray. Blade is a soldier who will not let death prevent him from seeking revenge against the tyrant who killed his parents. Armed with a massive sword, from which he gets his name, Blade is a fierce fighter on the battlefield who charges in where others fear to tread.
Alongside the extended cinematic trailer, IGN presented their interview with Warhaven’s Game Director, Eunseok Yi, where he explained changes coming to the Early Access build next month. The biggest change is a reduction in squad sizes from 4 to 3, resulting in a 12 vs. 12 battle rather than the initial 16 vs. 16. Additionally, they are reducing Immortal incarnations to once per match to help balance the battles. Finally, the Onslaught and Arms Race game modes will return with clearer victory conditions to add more variety to the gameplay.
Warhaven will launch into Early Access on Steam for Windows PCs on September 20 at 6 pm PST / September 21 at 3 am CEST / 10 am KST.
