Sabikui Bisco Episode 6

Sabikui Bisco is a fantasy/adventure anime produced by Oz. As Milo and Bisco continue to head toward the mountains, they find themselves in danger of freezing. But it appears the duo aren’t alone in their peril. A familiar face is found near freezing in the snow. Perhaps the three of them can find a way to their destination together in Sabikui Bisco Episode 6?

Seeing kindhearted people manage to make their way through a brutal, unforgiving world, even as others say they are too nice to manage, is always a welcome theme to me. The philosophical conflict of looking out for number one and giving all you can never fail to make me smile when giving is shown to work out in the end. And Milo certainly is a giving-all-you-can kind of guy.

Early in Sabikui Bisco Episode 6, Milo and Bisco come across the same pink-haired woman they ran into a couple of episodes ago. The duo quickly nurses the woman back to health, having found her freezing to death after losing her means of transportation. Deciding to join them for the current stretch of their trip, the trio makes their way to the subway passages.

The numerous interactions between our staring duo and their momentary companion are filled with warmth, kindness, and just the right touch of humor. Milo continues to be the pure-hearted innocent the show has always promised him to be, while Bisco continues to show that he is far closer to Milo in his sense of kindness than initially implied.

Across from these two, though, the show utilizes the newcomer to continue to reinforce that Milo and Bisco’s life experiences have certainly been exceptions to the rule. Where they grew up with someone who cared for them in the forms of Jabi and Pawoo, respectively, the newcomer wasn’t so lucky. Much like the kids encountered in the last episode, she has had to make do with what she could take. Without this older presence guiding her, she has made some regrettable choices. Sabikui Bisco Episode 6 does a great job of highlighting how she isn’t truly to blame for what she’s had to do. But instead, how wrong their world has gone to put her in the position to have to make them.

The visuals in this episode do a great job of bringing the many warm interactions to life. Every time Milo breaks out that big ear-to-ear grin of his, I just want to hug him. Couple the strong emotional delivery with a brief but unique and fun action sequence to wrap up the episode, and the animation and visuals deliver everything a fan could ask for.

When all is said and done, Sabikui Bisco Episode 6 manages to deliver a touching story with just a dash of humor and action while managing to set up next week’s tale for something potentially huge for the story.

Sabikui Bisco Episode 6 is streaming on Funimation and Crunchyroll.
