StreamElements recently announced its Pride celebration plans to honor and support the LGBTQ+ community all year long. This includes partnering with the It Gets Better Project, whose mission is to uplift, empower, and connect LGBTQ+ youth around the globe. The campaign spans charity drives, creator spotlights, live streaming channel graphics, and merchandise featuring designs commissioned from LGBTQ+ artists.

“Pride has always been an important part of my life. Seeing StreamElements partner with LGBTQ+ content creators and the highly impactful It Gets Better Project to drive social change is a significant milestone, especially for myself and many other members of our staff who are part of the community we’re celebrating,” said Sean Horvath, CRO, StreamElements. “Our goal with this campaign is to not only shine a light on all the amazing things Pride represents but to continue our previous commitment to supporting diversity by ensuring the efforts we put forward are prominent year-round.”

The following Pride initiatives also include elements that demonstrate a long-term commitment to the company’s diversity values. StreamElements is partnering with the It Gets Better Project to help support their mission by taking the following steps:

  • Donating $25,000 to the It Gets Better project
  • Launching a merch store featuring Pride-inspired items (shirts, hoodies, mugs, and more) with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity
  • Providing thematic tools, graphics, and tips for conducting a charity stream to make it easy for content creators to join in the fundraising and show their Pride spirit
  • Using social media and community relations to bolster awareness of the aforementioned efforts

“LGBTQ+ youth have long found community and connection through gaming — perhaps more so over the last year than ever before,” said Ross von Metzke, Director, Communications, and PR, It Gets Better Project. “This is why it is vital we work to ensure that gaming platforms and streamers offer spaces where young people can find community and explore their journey to self-affirmation in a supportive and empowering environment. We look forward to working toward this shared goal with StreamElements during Pride Month and throughout the year.”

Additionally, LGBTQ+ artists Jaime Hayde and Andrea Marroquín were commissioned to create designs that are now available on a wide variety of products in StreamElements’ new company merch store, with 100% of the profits going to charity. These 10 designs are also free-to-use by the entire creator community for use in their SE. Merch stores and can be found in the SE. Gallery tab when “Add Image” is selected in the merch design dashboard. With SE. Merch’s tools, creators can further customize swag with their personal branding. These products and designs will be available indefinitely.

On the user side, to empower creators to celebrate Pride on their channels, StreamElements has a new SuperTheme. This is a collection of overlays and alerts for a live-streamed broadcast, including when a streamer is starting, ending, or taking a break from their broadcast and alternating focus when in picture-in-picture mode. Jaime Hayde’s art is incorporated into the new SuperTheme and related alerts, all of which are available for the long term. Throughout the month, StreamElements is using its social media channels to highlight LGBTQ+ creators, including videos where they will share their journey and comment on what Pride means to them.

Supporting the LGBTQ+ community in a meaningful way requires more than a month of attention which is why the graphics and merchandise being launched in June will be available all year long. This initiative continues StreamElements’ commitment to championing diversity, such as its ongoing Creator Diversity Program and support of both Black History Month and Women’s History Month.
