Let’s Make a Mug Too Episode 10 – “Hime-chan Is Doing Her Best”

Last time with the Pottery Club, Himeno finally started to realize her ceramic cushion’s shape. After multiple trials, she decided on a rather unique woven style that was comfortable and stylish at the same time. However, in Let’s Make a Mug Episode 10, Himeno is going to face a new challenge: deciding on a color!

Let’s Make a Mug Episode 10, “Hime-chan Is Doing Her Best”, continues Himeno’s ongoing trials with her ceramic cushion idea. Now, she’s stuck on which color to glaze her piece with, which is turning into quite the trial. It seems Himeno’s ongoing struggles with her curious creation aren’t quite over. Then again, that’s how it is when you’re making something from the heart. Thankfully, Himeno has the support of Nao, Mika, and Touka to get her through to the next steps in the Minoware contest.

Still, the deadline looms and Himeno has no choice but to get things done as quickly as she can. And while viewers can rest assured that she probably will meet the deadline, there’s actually enough tension around what might happen to make this current arc feel enjoyable. This only grows more true when Himeno starts avoiding her project by cooking.

Thankfully, Nao has an epiphany that leads her to help Himeno come to a resolution. What ensues is a tender moment between two friends and a callback to episode 6 and Himeno’s mother’s sculpture. It’s one of many thoughtful moments in Let’s Make a Mug Too. In a show as peaceful and relaxing as Let’s Make a Mug Too, it feels like a well-earned moment and a reminder that Himeno is very much so like her mother.

In the live-action segment of Let’s Make a Mug Episode 10, the voice actors are back at it with more pottery! This time, they’re getting hands-on and painting the plates they made back in episode 7. It’s a fun little segment, especially for all the good crafty ASMR vibes. Viewers will have to wait until next time to see the plates post-firing. Still, watching the voice actors paint their plates is fun enough, and kind of made me want to go paint, too!

Let’s Make a Mug Episode 10 is a pleasant continuation in Himeno’s arc to create the perfect ceramic cushion. It’s filled with tender little moments and neat ceramics facts. That’s one of the things I love about this series. You always leave with new tidbits of knowledge. It might be a giant advertisement for real-life Tajimi City, and the Let’s Make a Mug manga, but it’s a darn good ad. Let’s Make a Mug Episode 10 is no different, continuing the series with another solid episode.

All in all, my watch of Let’s Make a Mug Episode 10 was quite good. I loved the anime and the live-action segment equally, and, as always, look forward to seeing where this arc is going to go over the final two episodes. It’s hard to believe that we’ve only got two more episodes with Himeno and the Pottery Quartet. Time really has passed so quickly! Yet I have the feeling that they’ll be excellent.

Let’s Make a Mug Too is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
