Last time on Tropical-Rouge PreCure, the Tropical Quartet faced off against a new foe: the Zenzen Yarane-da, a souped-up version of their previous motivation-devouring foes. Of course, their powers weren’t enough… until they combined with the help of Cure Summer and performed their new Mix Tropical attack! Now, the girls are better than ever! Let’s see how that plays out in Tropical-Rouge PreCure, episode 11.

Episode 11, “Get Excited! Sand Art by the Beach!” really captures Manatsu’s excitement about moving to tropical Aozora City in the premiere by giving viewers a very fun beach episode. Now that Manatsu’s passed her retest, it’s time for fun in the sun, as well as getting hella hyped for her brand new tropical life!
Naturally, Manatsu wants to share her tropi-cool feelings with all of her classmates. Thankfully, the members of the Tropical Club drum up an idea that’s super fun: playing in the sand! Well… more like sand art, which is a bit more elegant and a whole lot more fun! Thus we have the basis for Tropical-Rouge PreCure Episode 11, which is, for all intents, this series’ beach episode. Then again, you could argue that every day is a beach episode when you’re in a tropical setting.
Post-OP, the Tropical Quartet are kicking off their first-ever school event with a tropica-shining attitude. All of their classmates are quite excited too, especially since the grand prize is a year’s supply of tropical melon bread. Even Laura is excited about melon bread, though naturally… she can’t come out. Her mermaid-dom has gotta stay secret, no matter how much she wants to build a sand sculpture.
Of course, this isn’t all that Tropical-Rouge PreCure Episode 11 is about. In the back half of the episode, we get a few kinks in the sand sculpture event. Thankfully, the Tropical Quartet rises to the occasion and saves the day. Only this time, it’s not initially as their alter-ego legendary warrior selves, but as friends and young girls who are invested in having fun. The scenes that ensure are quite a delight to watch. This includes the monster of the week battle that we’ve come to be familiar with. Personally, I still find the fights enjoyable week to week, in part because we get the really nice truncated transformation sequence that’s so bright and glam.
Tropical-Rouge PreCure Episode 11 is, without a doubt, the most whimsical episode. It’s also the most school-centric episode as well, focusing mostly on the Pretty Cures as students rather than as legendary magical girl warriors. It also centers the girls as leaders, especially when their classmates need assistance sculpting sand or understanding the rules. Quickly, it becomes apparent that there’s something special about the club, and it’s not just their magical secret!
It’s hard not to find nearly every episode of Tropical-Rouge Pretty Cure enjoyable. While this remains a show targeted at young girls, it’s also so enjoyable as an adult. The quartet remains incredibly likable, especially Manatsu. She shines as brightly as the sun itself and remains a great example of femininity and friendship. Then again, so do the other members of the Pretty Cure quartet. They’re all so wonderfully likable, which is why it’s so easy to watch this series every week.
