Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy is a six-issue mini-series written by Jody Houser, with pencils from Adriana Melo, inks by Mark Morales, colors by Hi-Fi, and letters by Gabriela Downie that centers around DC Comics’ best best friends: Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Taking place after the events of Heroes in Crisis which left Ivy dead and Harley mourning, until she realizes that the Green has allowed Ivy to grow again. Now in issue #6, we’ve seen the two antiheroine pals on the run from the Floronic Man, fighting for their lives and having adventures along the way.
Harley is emotional, irreverent, and illogical. Ivy is logical, reserved, and runs by a strong moral code that puts the Green above all else. Their dynamic is a fan favorite and in this series, it’s on full display. Throughout the series so far we’ve seen a deeper look at the duo and how they each experience their love for each other. For Harley, she’s trying her best to support and keep her Pammy alive after losing her once. For Ivy, she’s trying to keep Harley from being hurt again, and trying to keep her from getting in over her head. While the two villains have turned over a new leaf, at the end of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy #5 shows the real rival to Ivy’s power in the in Green, herself.
