The film is produced by K&S Films (El Eternauta, Wild Tales), with Matías Mosteirín and Pola Zito as executive producers. The Marked Woman is directed by Gabe Ibáñez and written by Lara Sendim. The casting directors who assembled this ensemble of heavy hitters are Eva Leira and Yolanda Serrano.

What is The Marked Woman About?

Ana Rujas and Candela Peña in The Marked Woman

The film follows the investigation of a case led by Detective Anna Ripoll (Candela Peña), after the discovery of a woman (Ana Rujas), gagged and bound, inside a container in the port of Barcelona, unable to remember who she is or how she got there. Anna, together with Officer Quique Zárate (Pol López), embarks on a race against time to uncover the identity of the unknown woman and the secrets hidden in her memory.

The Marked Woman is an adaptation of the novel written by Rosa Montero and Olivier Truc, published by the French publisher POINTS, as well as by Alfaguara (Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial) in Spain. Montero and Truc are reportedly incredibly excited to see their novel be adapted into a film.
