What to expect from Frostpunk 2 DLC, “Breach of Trust”
Originally released in 2024, Frostpunk 2 is a city-survival game, where players take the role of a Steward and lead their city through a cascade of calamities taking place in a postapocalyptic, snowy setting. Anno 117 isn’t the only city-builder getting a volcanic threat since this second DLC introduces an entirely new, dangerous scenario to manage.
Breach of Trust is now entering its closed playtest phase, with sign-ups open via Steam, and has a release date set for June 23, 2026.

This fully-realized scenario, built on fresh mechanics and new challenges, takes players through a trial by fire as they struggle to overcome a crisis in New Edinburgh. Settled near a volcano destabilized by the reckless use of geothermal energy to power its Generator, the city faces grave danger.
With the ground trembling beneath them, players take the helm as First Citizen, held accountable through periodic Votes of Trust that measure their approval rating. But as the inferno looms, will you foster trust or unleash destruction? From the same fire that destroys, unity can be born.

What is Frostpunk 1886?
Just because 11 bit has released a sequel doesn’t mean that they have forgotten about the original game. The Frostpunk story began in 2018 with the original game that introduced players to survival city-building. And during the Frostpunk Franchise Fest, the studio announced that they will be giving it a revisit with Frostpunk 1886.
Frostpunk 1886 is set to be a definitive version of the original game with substantial new content. While the developers didn’t release any other specifics, they did highlight that more updates will be coming in future DevStreams.
What is the new Frostpunk comic book?
Frostpunk is also expanding into new media as a franchise. The livestream also announced an official Frostpunk comic book set in the universe, created in partnership with Rocketship Entertainment, with writer Justin Jordan and illustrator Ryan Benjamin (no information has been provided regarding color, lining, or lettering credits).
