Netflix has officially announced the return of its hit Korean action series, Bloodhounds Season 2, scheduled to premiere on April 3, 2026. Nearly three years after its release, the Netflix Original is set to make waves with new characters and narrative.

Season 2 of the series is directed by Kim Joo-hwan and written by Kim Joo-hwan. If you’re unfamiliar, the series is based on the Naver webtoon Bloodhounds by Jeong Chan. The action revenge series will see returning stars Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi reprising their roles as the central prizefighters, Gun-woo and Woo-jin.

Moving beyond the local loan shark operations of the debut season, the upcoming installment elevates the stakes by plunging the protagonists into the brutal and dangerous world of an international underground boxing league.

Bloodhounds Season 1 was one of our best K-Dramas of 2023 and a top television series overall as well. In our review we said, “Bloodhounds is a great, tense action series about fighting injustice, revenge, and everyone who can become tangled up in the fight.”

What is Bloodhounds Season 2 about?

Netflix’s official synopsis for the second season of Bloodhounds is:

After dismantling a heinous loan shark ring, Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi) are set to land another exhilarating straight hook, this time against a global underground boxing league, ruled by money and violence. Woo Do-hwan (Mr. Plankton, The King: Eternal Monarch) returns as Gun-woo, who embodies the righteous “heart of a boxer.”

Lee Sang-yi (Good Boy, My Demon) reprises his role as Woo-jin, Gun-woo’s bold and brave friend and fellow boxer. Together, they reunite to take down an illegal boxing league. Jung Ji-hoon (stagname: Rain) steps into his first villain role as Baek-jeong, who uses his power and any means necessary to draw Gun-woo and Woo-jin into the underground boxing world.

But Rain isn’t the only interesting new face, with both DEX and Park Seo-joon confirmed for cameos. From the trailer alone, it is clear that the series will continue to focus on the intense physical choreography, with a new emphasis on boxing and the mechanics of an international boxing league. This different focus allows both of our leads to expand their characters and provides narrative variety.
