Football management sim sickos rejoice, you can now manage your favorite club on your phone (well, and PC). With a launch trailer, SEGA revealed that its new management sim, SEGA Football Club Champions, is available now on Steam, PlayStation, iOS, and Google Play.

While the launch is giving insight into how the publisher is using the data from its leading sports sim title, Football Manager, it begs the question: What makes this title different? With Football Manager 26 available on mobile (with a Netflix membership), this new title could help fill the mobile gap for those not giving the streamer a monthly subscription.

What is SEGA Football Club Champions?

SEGA Football Club Champions is an officially licensed title featuring over 5,000 players from FIFPRO, J-League, K-League, and Manchester City F.C., all with the goal of using unique player data by referencing the Football Manager database and applying it to a new style of football club management sim.

But this isn’t a brand new franchise; it is the newest installment in the beloved soccer club management simulation game from Japan “SakaTsuku,” which has been behind the sports management simulation genre for fans for 30 years.

In SEGA Football Club Champions, players become the manager of their own club and build their team from hometown heroes to global superstars, or become a manager of an existing club. Similar to other titles, players recruit and nurture young rising players to become global stars, develop facilities and training programs to enhance their potential, and compete in their selected league, rising from the bottom to become the best.
