What to expect from Palia’s 0.196 Patch
Say Hello to The Goobi!
The Goobi is a new barn buddy. Formed from condensed elemental Flow mixed with pond scum, this adorable, slimy critter is the first new addition to the Ranch animal lineup. Like others in Palia’s ranching roster, these unique creatures are more than just cute faces; they reward dedicated owners with valuable foraged flowers, including the delicate Heartdrop Lily and the elusive Elderwood Lotus.
- Color Traits: They can spawn with six different color traits.
- Flower Traits: There are three different flower traits to discover.
- Visual Patterns: Goobis follow the same visual pattern system as other ranch animals, meaning players can even find a sparkly Goobi.
How do you unlock the Goobi?
First, players who have reached Ranching Skill Level 10. Then, players can bring a Goobi home via the Ranching Guild Store.
Patch 0.196 Ranching Updates
To make farm life smoother, the dev team has implemented balance changes, reducing the happiness decay rate for all animals (from 5 to 4) and increasing their production limit (from 2 to 3).
Key updates to the ranching system include:
- Guest Interaction: Visitors can pet, feed, and collect items from your animals.
- Editor Permissions: Trusted friends can be granted editor permissions to feed treats, with only a handful of owner-exclusive treats remaining (like the Immaculate Confection Biscuit).
- Pen Organization: A new menu allows owners to prioritize which pen each animal is sent to, and babies can now be sent to pens with their parents.
Multiplayer Ranching:
Finally, players can ranch together with Multiplayer Ranching! Players can now invite friends to their housing plot to ring the barn bell and lend a helping hand. Guests can assist with core ranching activities, and experience gained from petting, feeding, and collecting items is shared between both players. Items collected, however, are sent directly to the owner.
Player Profile Updates
One of the updates rolling out with this patch is that players can now get an even better introduction to each other with revamped Character Profiles. This new feature allows players to inspect others and view a detailed breakdown of their in-game identity. This makes it easier for players to view others’ profiles immediately, add them as friends, and invite them to a party with a more straightforward menu.
