Spooky Doorway is a multi-award-winning game studio that describes itself as devoted to “delivering narrative-focused experiences that bring Irish mythology, history, and ghost stories to a global stage.” Having previously developed The Darkside Detective series, this new title seems like the perfect follow-up.

And if the spooky detective work doesn’t get you, the art style probably will. Inspired by the artwork from Mike Mignola (known for Hellboy), Edward Risso (known for Batman: Broken City), and Tim Sale (Batman: The Long Halloween), The Séance of Blake Manor has a heavy comic inspiration for its graphic novel style, highlighting a hand-drawn aesthetic, and moving the conversation panel to panel.

What is The Séance of Blake Manor?

Most well-known for their previous detective series, The Séance of Blake Manor seems like the perfect next step for Spooky Doorway. The game is set in Victorian Ireland, and players step into the role of Private Investigator Declan Ward. As a PI, you’ll work your way through the mystery around Evelyn Deane’s disappearance to find out why and how she vanished.

To do so, players will interrogate an eclectic group of suspects to learn more about their motivations while unearthing hidden clues in their appearances as well. Additionally, to further their investigation, players will record details, make connections, and cross-reference evidence to uncover the truth about Blake Manor and Evelyn Deane.

Via a release to the press, Spooky Doorway has shared a list of key features that all aim to put the player deeper into the mystery and the supernatural. Those are listed below.
