What the Trailer

Season 19: Haunted Masquerade Official Trailer | Overwatch 2

Masks, Mythics, and mayhem await in Season 19: Haunted Masquerade! Join us for this year’s spooktacular Halloween event, Haunted Masquerade! Grab a mask of a fellow teammate and discover new ways to synergize when you use powerful new ability combos.

What is the Haunted Masquerade Event?

Overwatch 2 Season 19 Update Notes - Haunted Masquerade

The centerpiece of Overwatch 2 Season 19 is the limited-time Haunted Masquerade event. This unique mode challenges players to put on mystical masks of each other’s heroes, a move that grants buffs capable of turning the tide of the fight.

This is an opportunity for teams to embrace strategy and completely flip established hero matchups, with each character ranking on qualities through the buffs of the masks they wear.

For those who prefer a taste of classic Overwatch Halloween horror, fan-favorite events Junkenstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride will also be making their return.

  • Junkenstein’s Revenge: Squad up with friends (or brave the horde yourself) and defend the haunted castle from waves of zombie Omnics, stitched-together monstrosities, and Junkenstein’s unholy army of bosses.
  • Wrath of the Bride: A cinematic co-op chapter, this mode sends Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko, and Ashe into the heart of Adlersbrunn to smash barricades, fend off exploding zombie Omnics, and face terrifying bosses. Banshee Moira shrieks from the rafters. Gargoyle Winston descends with crushing power, and all of it looks to shape Overwatch perfectly to horror aesthetics.

What is new in Overwatch 2 Season 19?

Overwatch 2 Season 19 Update Notes

Overwatch Season 19 is injecting fresh blood into the hero pool and the map rotation. Three popular heroes—Torbjörn, Hazard, and Sojourn—are confirmed to be joining the fray. Additionally, players will be able to battle on the brand-new Busan Sanctuary Control map, a fresh locale that demands new strategies and team compositions.

The competitive landscape is also seeing a revamp with the debut of new seasonal ranks, giving serious players a new ladder to climb. As a reward for reaching the highest echelons, the highly coveted All-Star Cassidy skin will be up for grabs.

Key Quality-of-Life Updates

Beyond the new playable content, Overwatch 2 is introducing some major technical updates that will streamline player experience and tactical depth.

  • Combat Text: This will allow players to view their damage and healing numbers floating on screen in both first-person and third-person views, across all Stadium matches, as well as the Practice Range. You can also customize the size, transparency, and data type displayed, or turn it off entirely. It’s your game, your info, displayed your way.
  • Armory Upgrade: Items and Builds will have dedicated sub-tabs, filters, and faster search tools.
  • Gadgets Updates: Players can now select a single Gadget per match. This powerful item can be deployed during one single, tide-turning moment, adding a new layer of clutch strategy to every game. Colossus Core lets you push through like an unstoppable wraith, Kitsune Charm burns away negative effects and keeps your team in the fight, and Jet Skates lets you ghost your opponents, just to name a few.

Season 19 Battle Passes and Cosmetics

Overwatch 2 Season 19 Update Notes

This season’s Battle Passes are loaded with ghastly goodies for players looking to customize their favorite heroes:

Premium Battle Pass
The Premium Battle Pass features the Divine Druid Lifeweaver Mythic Skin, depicting a radiant guardian reborn in glowing Biolight. It also includes Kiriko’s Spirit Keeper Mythic Weapon Skin, complete with spectral foxfire and ancient flame effects.

Legendary costumes include Oni Cassidy, Mermonster Wuyang, Vampire Moira, Ninja Sombra, and One-eyed Wilheim Reinhardt. Epic skins like Cursed Woods Echo, Cursed Teddy Zenyatta, and Cursed Candle Torbjörn round out the spooky cosmetic offerings.

  • Ultimate Battle Pass: Includes everything in the Premium Pass, plus 20 Tier Skips, 2,000 Overwatch Coins, and the Legendary costume skins Vampire Kiriko and R-7K Preserver Ramattra.

Mythic Hero Skin Changes

Overwatch 2 Season 19 Update Notes

Overwatch 2 Season 19 also marks the inclusion of a second mythic. There will now be two Mythic Hero skins per season, starting with the new Divine Druid Lifeweaver at launch in Season 19, and Cyber Fuel Junkrat coming later at midcycle (an addition to the brand-new Mythic Spirit Keeper Kiriko weapon at the start of the season).

The devs are also introducing tiers to make unlocking Mythic Skins feel much more unique for players. Each tier will grant a distinct customization to tailor your magical Mythic from the top.

  • At Tier 1, you’ll unlock the complete Mythic skin design. From there, each tier unlocks new ways to personalize your look with alternate components, colorways, and ambient FX toggles.
