Kaizen Game Works has announced a massive, free content update for their crime drama-meets-mascot simulator, Promise Mascot Agency. Titled “Prepare to Grind,” the update adds new hero cards, truck grinding, and fresh difficulty modes to the popular indie title.

Kaizen Game Works is a UK-based independent game studio formed in 2018 by two veterans of the UK games industry. Drawing on their experience working on BAFTA-winning AAA narrative games and mobile games, the studio says that it “wants to change the rules around game narratives and how players experience them.”

In the game, players explore the cursed town of Kaso-Machi. There, they recruit and train mascot friends to help out when jobs go wrong, and solve the mystery of your exile. Oh, and then there is your companion mascot, Pinky, who you help work through her many anger issues. And it’s all done to turn Promise Mascot Agency into the best agency in Japan! Go go, Michi and Pinky.

In the game’s first free update, those who love collecting more than mascots can get excited. Kaizen Games Works has also partnered with several other indie titles in this latest update, introducing several new hero cards; this includes Tanuki Pon’s Summer, Unbeatable, Sorry We’re Closed, Dunk Dunk, and Kaizen Games Works’ previous hit game, Paradise Killer.

The game’s beloved kei truck gets a significant upgrade, now allowing players to grind along rails. Additionally, a highly requested feature has been implemented, giving players the ability to skip music tracks.
