In Monsters are Coming! Road & Road, players act as a disposable peon who must protect an ever-moving city from ancient horrors that approach from all sides, intending to destroy it.

Players will need to gather resources and level up their abilities, as well as discover hidden secrets to give them an edge, all while attempting to reach a shelter where they can then upgrade their city and turn it into a rolling fortress of destruction. To succeed, players must reach the Arch and defeat the ancient demon that protects it to achieve safety and move onto the next, thrilling biome.

Key features include:

  • Fortify: The city must endure! Players can create their own builds to maximise efficiency by choosing, placing, and upgrading districts through continued run progression. Equip defensive structures to repel monsters from the gates, and keep the city moving forward, or else the darkness will consume players.
  • Forage: Gather wood, stone, and gold as a persistent peon who must constantly balance risk vs reward while fighting back endless armies of monsters. Stray from the beaten path to find richer rewards or keep heading due south towards the safety of shelter.
  • Fight: Beat Bad Ass Bosses, improve abilities, overcome environmental obstacles, and take charge of special weaponry to adapt strategies continually.
  • Tower Survivor: A new take on two popular genres, mashed up together, allows an intriguing entry point for those who traditionally love either/or, putting them together in an entertaining, enriching way that hasn’t been done in quite the same way before.
