Overwatch 2 Season 18 just got more star power. Blizzard Entertainment is shooting threes, bringing NBA All-Star Luka Dončić, a self-professed Overwatch 2 fan, into the hero shooter’s universe. The basketball superstar has even achieved Grandmaster status and a Top 500 ranking in North America, proving his skills extend beyond the court. Dončić has been sharpening his skills since the launch of the new Stadium Mode earlier this year and is now a key part of the game’s latest season.

“Many have seen how competitive I am on the basketball court, but you may not know that I’m just as competitive when I’m playing Overwatch,” said Luka Dončić. “I love this game, and am excited about this partnership. It’s special to be in the game in a way that other players can be part of.”

The collaboration will be seen both in and out of the game. Overwatch-themed billboards featuring Dončić will appear in Los Angeles and Dallas, as well as in Katowice, Poland, where he is currently competing in EuroBasket for the Slovenian national team. In Los Angeles, fans can spot the billboards around the Crypto.com Arena and LA Live, while in Dallas, they will be just steps from the American Airlines Center.

“Sharpshooter 77” will also make his mark in-game with a player title of the same name, a 77 loot box giveaway, a golden basketball weapon charm emblazoned with Luka’s iconic jersey number, and a spray.

Players will be able to play through special Stadium hero builds inspired by Luka’s on-court persona:

  • “Fadeaway Fan” Cassidy
  • “Luka Dunkcic” Lúcio
  • “Hooper Trooper” Zarya

In addition to the Dončić content, Season 18 kicks off with a massive amount of new content, including a new hero and multiple new game modes:

  • New water-based Support hero Wuyang
  • 60+ new Perks
  • The Stadium roster expands with Winston, Pharah, and Brigitte as well as new maps and an All-Star D.Va skin. Tracer joins the Stadium fray mid-season.
  • Quick Play Queue brings an unranked, best-of-5 mode designed for quick, low-stakes fun for all audiences.
  • Payload Race Mode sees both teams pushing their Payloads simultaneously toward the opposing spawn, all while defending their own.
  • A hero Draft feature with no mirror matchups, team-based bans, and a role-specific pick order designed for strategic variety.

Overwatch 2 is available now on PC and consoles.
