Overwatch 2 Season 18 just got more star power. Blizzard Entertainment is shooting threes, bringing NBA All-Star Luka Dončić, a self-professed Overwatch 2 fan, into the hero shooter’s universe. The basketball superstar has even achieved Grandmaster status and a Top 500 ranking in North America, proving his skills extend beyond the court. Dončić has been sharpening his skills since the launch of the new Stadium Mode earlier this year and is now a key part of the game’s latest season.
“Many have seen how competitive I am on the basketball court, but you may not know that I’m just as competitive when I’m playing Overwatch,” said Luka Dončić. “I love this game, and am excited about this partnership. It’s special to be in the game in a way that other players can be part of.”
The collaboration will be seen both in and out of the game. Overwatch-themed billboards featuring Dončić will appear in Los Angeles and Dallas, as well as in Katowice, Poland, where he is currently competing in EuroBasket for the Slovenian national team. In Los Angeles, fans can spot the billboards around the Crypto.com Arena and LA Live, while in Dallas, they will be just steps from the American Airlines Center.
