Following the launch of their 2024 soulslike Enotria: The Last Song, Italian developer Jyamma Games is back with an ambitious new project, La Divina Commedia.

Revealed during Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live, the dark fantasy action-RPG is inspired by the monumental work of Italian poet Dante Alighieri. The game reinterprets the legendary imagery of Dante’s work with the studio’s signature style, blending hack-and-slash mechanics with dark fantasy themes.

About the developers’ first game, our critic said, “Enotria: The Last Song is a solid entry to the genre. Its beautiful design, deep customization, and satisfying gameplay invite players to experience its take on the soulslike formula.”

La Divina Commedia’s reveal trailer highlighted the dark world it’s thrusting players into. While this may be the first time that a developer is attempting to adapt Dante Alighieri’s work, from the trailer alone, it looks like it may be the best. With a reverence to the source on display from the beginning of the Latin chants to the ending shot of looking over the water with screams peeking through the score, this is a title to watch from Jyamma Games.

What is La Divina Commedia about?

In this new adventure, a golden age of righteousness has fallen into chaos. The player takes on the role of a warrior-poet trapped in the infernal depths. You must descend through the circles of Hell, facing increasingly powerful demons, to redeem a sinful past. You can choose a male or female character and shape your experience to your preferred playstyle.

With this new “Canto”, Jyamma Games reaffirms its commitment to bringing Italian culture and art to the international gaming scene, continuing a journey based on experimentation, identity, and passion, and confirming its desire to stand out in an increasingly flourishing and competitive landscape.
