NEXON has just launched the official Season 3 demo for The First Descendant’s highly anticipated “Breakthrough” update, available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam until August 6, 2025. This curated demo offers players a sneak peek at the action-packed content coming in the full update, teasing new Descendants, intense battles, and exciting traversal options.

Launched last year, The First Descendant is a third-person co-op action RPG looter shooter featuring high-quality graphics developed using Unreal Engine 5. In the game, players take on the role of a Descendant, whose mission is to combat alien invaders and protect humanity’s survival, as well as safeguard Albion and the continent of Ingris.  Cooperation is crucial as players team up with one another in strategic 4-player boss fights where teamwork and tactics are key.

What to expect in The First Descendant Season 3 demo?

The First Descendant Season 3 - Nell

Set in the expansive Axion Plains, the demo lets players experience core features from the upcoming Breakthrough update. Axion is a vast new field that serves as the main stage for the update, where players take on the role of the newly introduced Descendant, Nell, and embark on a mission to explore the region.

  • Play as Nell: Take on the role of the newly introduced Descendant, Nell, and explore her abilities as you embark on a mission to traverse the region. Nell’s telekinetic powers allow her to mark enemies for enhanced damage and support allies with shields and buffs, making her versatile in both offensive and supportive roles.
  • Battle the Legion of Breach: Face off against new monstrous threats from the Legion of Breach, including the formidable Abyssal Carapace.
  • Ride Hover Bikes: Traverse Axion’s open terrain at high speeds on the new Hover Bike, offering unparalleled freedom of exploration.
  • Confront the Wall Crasher: Challenge the Wall Crasher, a slow-moving but devastating enemy that unleashes shockwaves, wide-range strikes, and area-of-effect (AoE) attacks.
