Tony Hawk Pro Skater (THPS) was a staple of many millennials’ childhoods. The series of games returned in 2020 with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2, and now even more is coming back with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4. During Summer Game Fest 2025, we got to go hands-on with some of the newly announced content and new features made explicitly for this remake.
This includes two new parks made just for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4, Pinball, and Movie Studio. There are also some new modes and features, such as HAWK, Photo Mode, and the ability to create custom goals in Create-A-Park.
Something brand new coming to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise that one could argue was sorely missed in THPS 1+2 was Photo Mode. With two new parks added to Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4, there are even more opportunities to commemorate your time in the game. While it may not have been the largest focus of the hands-on, a fully active photo mode allows players to engage even more with this remake.
We saw two new parks coming to Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 +4, and they’re good.
When it comes to gameplay, there isn’t much difference from what we saw in the first remake of the series when it comes to mechanics. But if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. While the original maps got a significant upgrade, as would be expected.
Still, there are also two new parks that were built just for THPS 3+4: Pinball and Movie Studio. Like most of the park names, these two do exactly what their titles imply. As the park’s title suggests, Movie Studio lets players grind and tear up a Movie Studio.
Pinball has been one of the most unique parks in the THPS franchise. Players skate in a vibrant pinball machine while a Galactus-looking Tony Hawk is playing pinball and judging if you are not skating well. Players will feel the liveliness of this park between the bright neon colors, pinball sounds, and lights.
Custom goals for Create-A-Park are another feature that feels small but really seems to add fresh elements to the THPS franchise. Players have always had the creative freedom and ability to create their own parks for themselves and other players. These new custom goals now allow us to test players and give more incentives to try out some of the parks made by the community.
Create-a-Park gives players the power to go deeper into challenges in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4.
Additional Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 continues the tradition of adding fun playable characters. At the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, it was announced that players who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition would get access to Doom Slayer as a playable character.
Activision also announced that those pre-ordered Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 and Game Pass Subscribers will have access to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 Foundry Demo. Because who doesn’t want Foundary? This will allow players to check out two parks, Foundry and College, with Tony Hawk and Rayssa Leal.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 is really shaping up to bring that familiar THPS back for the fans, and like THPS 1+2, it will also give players that modern, fresh, and new feel. We all know that Tony Hawk will keep going until the wheels fall off, but with our hands-on impressions of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4, those wheels aren’t coming off this remake train just yet.
