Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 Episode 2 (Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka) continues the lighthearted slice-of-life structure seen in the first episode but with fewer revelations. The episode does a great job entertaining viewers with hilarious moments but lacks story progression.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 Episode 2 opens with Freya discussing competing with Syr for Bell’s attention with her follower Ottar. She says she is surprised by her sudden confession but is not intimidated, so she decides to give her a chance to compete.

The episode then fully begins back where the last starts with Hedin and Bell discussing Bell’s upcoming date with Syr. Bell tells Hedin he is still on the fence about going on a date and reveals he is already in love with Ais, but his arguments fall on deaf ears. Hedin, as antagonistic as ever, belittles Bell and threatens him that if he does not go on a date with Syr, follow his teachings, and obey his command, he will take down him and every member of his Familia. This forces Bell to obey his wishes, and Hedin begins training him to be a proper gentleman in preparation for his date.

This prompts a hilarious montage of short scenes in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 Episode 2, where Hedin basically harasses Bell by yelling at him and hitting him for any slight wrongdoing, all while trying to train him on right and wrong to court Syr. In the process, he also manages to impress several ladies he’s been acquainted with in the past, proving that his training is working thanks to the continuous intense and aggressive help from Hedin.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 Episode 2

These scenes are incredibly humorous and will succeed in getting a few laughs out of viewers due to the exaggerated actions, gestures, and statements from Hedin and Bell, who act like they’re doing a comedy routine. These scenes also maintain the fun and lighthearted slice-of-life atmosphere the anime has always had in the past.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 Episode 2 highlights the start of the Goddesses Festival and celebrates the year of good harvests. Several fertility goddesses are shown and celebrated, but Freya receives the most attention from the humans, who revere her for her abilities and beauty. It’s also revealed that Ishtar was initially meant to be part of the fertility goddesses but is no longer around due to the events of last season.

Bell and Syr begin their date, with Bell notably wearing an outfit he previously never would. He flawlessly executes everything he learned, and Syr notices this instantly. While she is impressed by his actions, she also notes that he doesn’t usually act this way and prefers how he acts normally.

However, they continue their date as usual while being looked over by members of the Freya Familia. Meanwhile, they are also being spied on by Ryu and other employees of the Tevern Syr works, and Ryu looks notably distraught while watching Syr and Bell. Members of the Hestia family take over the employees’ shift while they’re out, but Hestia leaves to chase down Bell. She runs into Ais, who briefly met Bell and Syr, and she almost looks jealous after watching them together. Hestia then decides to find Bell with help from Ais.

The next scene shows Bell and Syr conversing following their encounter with Ais. Syr acts jealously and possessively over Bell, but while defending himself, he accidentally reveals that he received training from Hedin on how to act on the date. The episode ends with Syr revealing that she’s aware of the people tailing them and asking Bell to “kidnap” her so they can get away. She claims she wants to do this to experience things she cannot under the Freya Familia.

Production-wise, despite any action scenes in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 Episode 2, studio J.C Staff still maintains the excellent animation quality seen in the previous episode.

Overall, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5 Episode 2, is highly entertaining and easy to watch. The episode’s many humorous moments make for an enjoyable viewing experience, but it’s hard not to note the lack of notable plot progression. We learn very few new details in the episode, and no action scenes were featured. Despite this, the season has some potential, and each episode has been engaging in many ways.
