Mortal Shell: The Virtuous Cycle DLC Is Available Now and FREE For the First 5 Days

Today, Cold Symmetry announced that Mortal Shell’s highly anticipated roguelike expansion, The Virtuous Cycle, is now available worldwide with a special limited-time 100% discount now underway.

Between now and August 23, fans can download and keep The Virtuous Cycle — a fully-fledged expansion complete with a new roguelike mode, new playable shell, and new transforming ax-katana weapon — at no cost.

Once this promotional period ends, the DLC will return to its MSRP of $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.99.

The promotional period, which commences today, applies to all available platforms: Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Epic Games Store, and GOG.COM.

Meanwhile, Mortal Shell’s Twitch Drops campaign is now underway, with more than 130,000 unique viewers already tuning in and earning rare in-game rewards. Twitch Drop rewards for watching The Virtuous Cycle on partnered Twitch streams include a darker new look for the Foundling, an exclusive Axatana skin, and a brand new playable Lute. “The momentum going into today’s launch of The Virtuous Cycle has been thrilling, with more than 340,000 Wishlists on Steam and a massive viewership spike on Twitch already,” said Kiron Ramdewar, Head of PC and Console at publisher Playstack. “We are feeling great about today’s launch, and we are offering the DLC for free for five days because we wanted to do something special to thank our incredible community.”

Today also marks the much-anticipated arrival of Mortal Shell’s base game on Steam. Since its release in August 2020, Mortal Shell has sold well in excess of 500,000 units and has been critically acclaimed the world over.
