In this episode, LaNeysha and Carolyn review and discusses the latest season of HBO’s Insecure. Insecure is a millennial-focused comedy-drama television series on HBO created by Issa Rae. Slightly based on Rae’s renowned web series Awkward Black Girl, Insecure unpacks the story of the Black female experience from the perspective of two female protagonists and best friends, Issa (Issa Rae) and Molly (Yvonne Orji). The two women are in their late 20s, as they try to navigate career and relationship experiences while living in Los Angeles, California. The two share a close bond, and throughout the show, they deal with internal struggles within themselves, their friendship, and the African American community.

In season 4 of Insecure romance, work, goals, and mental health were the main themes. Following her break up with Lawrence and need a positive change in her life, she was inspired to organize a Block Party to showcase the work of local Inglewood Black creatives and businesses. As her vision began to take shape, her relationship with Molly, her BFF, began to deteriorate, creating the main conflict for the season. With everything that happened, LaNeysha and Carolyn were excited to share their thoughts on this latest season of Insecure, and get into everything from Issa and Molly’s breakup, Condola being the new person in Issa and Lawrence’s life, and how mental illness was included in the storyline.
