Bleach live action But Why Tho 1

This week the women talk about the Bleach live-action movie, released this year on Netflix. With an action fantasy shonen series as iconic as Bleach from Tite Kubo, a live-action immediately sounds like a bad idea. In this episode, we dive into a full review of the film. We talk bad wigs, good practical effects, casting, and of course costuming. Plus, we talk about how the Bleach live-action ripped open the “Ichi x Ruki” sized holes in our hearts with a stellar montage that did the friendship thing but brought in so much yearning. While Hollows may not seem to be easily adapted to screen, somehow, it’s managed well here. Even the sword transformations have some bite. Hit play on the audio below to hear why the Bleach live-action is well worth hitting play on even if you’re a die-hard Bleach fan.

If you haven’t heard about the Bleach live-action here’s the quick breakdown – because of course, it changes up some of the storylines. Bleach (also known onscreen as Bleach: The Soul Reaper Agent Arc) was produced by Warner Bros., based on the manga series of the same name by Tite Kubo, and directed by Shinsuke Sato. The film stars Sôta Fukushi as the main protagonist, Ichigo Kurosaki, with Hana Sugisaki as Rukia, Erina Mano as Orihime, Ryo Yoshizawa as Ishida, Yu Koyanagi as Chad, and Taichi Saotome as Renji. Initially, the mangaka Tite Kubo stated that he wished to make Bleach an experience that can be found only by reading manga, dismissing ideas of creating any live-action film adaptations of the series. But when the opportunity came for the film adaptation, Kubo decided to be involved with its production to ensure its faithfulness to the manga and anime, so that both old and new fans may enjoy it.
