Reading Time: 2 minutes

After a week off, we’re back with “This Week in Gaming,” a series that highlights the top gaming news of the past week. A Collaboration between SDGC on and But Why Tho? A Geek Community, John, the creator of SDGC, rounds up the most notable gaming moments. From company updates, next-gen, games, hardware, and more, John is here to break it all down into a bite-size serving to make sure you don’t miss the gaming news that happened each week. Keeping up with the news while at work can be tough, but we got you covered, every Sunday.

This week, John covers everything next-gen, Nintendo’s response to next-gen launches, and of course the announcement many gamers have been asking for: Mass Effect. With the launches of the Xbox Series X | S and the Playstation 5 being wildly successful, we hear what the companies have to say. While it’s still soon to know the full extent of sales and in Xbox’s case, the split between the Xbox Series X and its digital and cheaper version, the Xbox Series S, John dives into what Phil Spenser and Sony have to say. Additionally, John details Nintendo’s response to the recent launches which explains how the handheld console has managed to keep winning in 2020 despite not launching a new console.

And finally, John dives into EA’s news about the upcoming Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which will feature a full remaster (not remake) of the trilogy and all of its DLC content. Additionally, DLC announced that a new Mass Effect is in development, although they didn’t add any details of where it will appear in the existing timeline.

We’ll be back next week with more SDGC on BWT. Have news that you would like us to cover? Tweet us at @ButWhyThoPC, and make sure to follow @OfficialSDGC as well.
