KOEI TECMO America and developer GUST Studios announced gameplay details for Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy. The JRPG is set to launch across North America this Winter for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. It is a sequel to Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, which has now shipped over 500,000 units worldwide.
In Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, Ryza departs her peaceful hometown of Kurken Island to visit the bustling Royal Capital of Ashra-am Baird, setting up her own atelier shop while exploring the ancient ruins of the land. To uncover the mysteries within the ruins, Ryza will need to traverse her environment in entirely new ways by swinging, climbing, crawling, and squeezing her way past a variety of obstacles.
Even though some of these abilities may come easily to Ryza, she’ll still need the help of the mystical Emerald Band to allow her to swing across treacherous gaps. The remarkable Air Drops will allow her to dive underwater and uncover areas with a wealth of materials perfect for synthesis.
Synthesis, a key part of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, allows Ryza to take raw materials she finds in the field and craft them into useful items for battle, gathering, and exploration.The Linkage Synthesis system from the first game has evolved in the sequel, enabling players to fill the Material Loops with the required ingredients to create new objects. In addition, the newly introduced Essence feature allows players to alter the elemental trait of an item during synthesis. By altering the essence of a Material Loop, the final item can take on brand-new qualities.
The Evolution Link takes things a step farther. Players will be able to combine two fully synthesized items together and, depending on the items mixed, might uncover an extraordinary new one.
Along with the new gameplay and character details, KOEI TECMO also revealed that gamers who purchase a physical or digital copy of the game during the first two weeks of release will receive an Early Purchase Bonus code for the Summer Fashion Costume Set. Plus, gamers who have save data from Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout will be able to unlock the Classic Costume Set, which includes outfits from the previous game.
