XSEED Games has announced that Kandagawa Jet Girls, the jet racing game from the creators of Senran Kagura, is coming to North America on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC later this summer. It will be available physically as the Day One “Racing Hearts” edition, packaged with bonus goods for PS4 for $59.99. The standalone game will be available digitally on the PlayStation Store and on Steam for PC for $49.99.
In Kandagawa Jet Girls, jet racing is the sport of the future and the waterways of Tokyo host some of the most daring and skilled athletes of Japan. Drivers, also known as “Jetters,” pair up with a “Shooter,” armed with water weapons to blast away the competition. They must impress spectators if they want to win, building up their boost meter by doing aerial stunts while dodging obstacles and avoiding enemy attacks.
Pick from the seven two-girl teams to race with and discover each of their hopes and motivations for racing as you play through 64 episodes of lighthearted racing drama in single player. You can also go online and put your skills to the test against other players.
The retail “Racing Hearts” edition will include the base game, the two-disc soundtrack CD with 54 tracks, and a 5.5” x 7.3” softcover 60-page art book, all housed in a special box with exclusive art designed by Hanaharu Naruko.
Kandagawa Jet Girls will include customization options, allowing players to choose their own look for their team and machine. The customization is more than skin-deep and also lets players go under the hood and fine-tune their jet machine’s performance to match their racing style.
The shinobi girls of Senran Kagura will be infiltrating Kandagawa Jet Girls this summer as a treat as well. Ryobi and Ryona are already included as part of the base game in the Western release as a special gift and Asuka and Yumi will be the first to join the lineup as premium DLC after launch.
Additional details about the Senran Kagura DLC characters will be announced at a later date. More information about the game is available on the website.
