Final Fantasy XIV Online’s Patch 5.25 update arrives today, April 7. The patch introduces the “Save the Queen” quest series – a new adventure featuring a story written by Yasumi Matsuno (Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII). Matsuno also penned the narrative for the popular Return to Ivalice raid series.
This latest update includes new additional content for crafters and gatherers, as well as new battle content tied to the new weapon enhancement quest series.
The new “Resistance Weapon” Enhancement Quest Series is called “Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr.” In this quest, adventurers can obtain powerful weapons and learn more about the Hrothgar homeland, the Bozja Citadel. Players can experience new Resistance Weapon Quest Battles consisting of multiple boss fights. Progress will be saved as you advance. “Save the Queen” will receive regular updates in future patches.
The patch also includes a new “Extreme” Difficulty Trial. Parties of eight players can challenge this new trial battle.
The new “Skysteel Tools” questline offers new crafter and gatherer content. This questline will allow Disciples of the Land and Hand to upgrade their Skysteel Tools into even more powerful versions and will receive subsequent updates in future patches.
The patch also includes new items, recipes, furnishings, and more.

Players can also participate in the seasonal event, Hatching-tide 2020, which ends on April 13. This special event offers players limited-time rewards, including two bunny costumes and new housing items. More information on Hatching-tide 2020 can be found on the website as well.
Additionally, fans can now watch all six episodes of “The Creation of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers” series. The series provides an in-depth look at various parts of Final Fantasy XIV Online’s development, including several key developers sharing behind-the-scenes insight on how they create the successful MMORPG.
