Nintendo pleasantly surprised fans earlier today by dropping an unannounced Nintendo Direct Mini. The Direct, as always, revealed more information on upcoming games and release dates. However, Nintendo included a disclaimer that because of COVID-19, details are subject to change. Check out the full list of new announcements below:

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is an upgraded port of Nintendo’s hit Wii JRPG, originally released in North America in 2012. It follows the story of Shulk, a young man who can see the future, as he tries to save the world. The Direct called Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition the “ultimate version of a modern classic” and listed the game’s improvements, including easier to read menus and rerecorded music.

Additionally, the definitive edition will include Xenoblade Chronicles Future Connected, a new epilogue. It will help “cap off” the main game and add new content for returning fans of the series.

The game will come out on May 29, 2020, and is available for pre-purchase today. Fans can also purchase the Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Work Set, which includes a 250-page art book.

Shinsekai: Into the Depths

Shinsekai: Into the Depths takes place in a world where the last of the human race has been forced to retreat underwater due to a global winter. In this new aquatic world, the focus is on deep-sea exploration. Gameplay revolves around gathering resources to upgrade your gear, craft items, and dive even deeper into the oceanic abyss.

The game also includes a jukebox mode, which allows players to customize the background music using filters.

Shinsekai: Into the Depths is available for Nintendo Switch now.

Good Job

In Good Job, you work at your dad’s company doing all the stuff no one else wants to do, like mopping the floor and delivering packages. However, you don’t have to do it all the traditional way. Good Job lets you pick if you want to work professionally or destructively – the trailer showed one player getting a replacement projector by literally slingshotting it through the office wall.

Good Job is available on Switch today.

Catherine: Full Body

The cult classic Catherine: Full Body is coming to Nintendo Switch on July 7, 2020.

The game centers around Vincent, a young man with commitment issues who can’t pick between Catherine, Katherine, or Rin. Your choices as Vincent affect how his relationships unfold, possibly leading him to his own demise. This game isn’t a dating sim, however, but a puzzle game. Each night, you must solve puzzles to make sure that Vincent makes it out of his nightmare alive.

Free Ring Fit Adventure Update

Ring Fit Adventure is getting a rhythm game mode. This mode includes 17 tracks from Super Mario OdysseySplatoon 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Don’t be fooled, though – it still functions as a full-body workout. Along those same lines, the game is also getting a new jogging option in both custom and quickplay modes for when you don’t feel like battling.

Not all updates revolve around exercise. Your companion, Ring, can now have a female voice and you can change what language Ring speaks in the settings menu.

This update for Ring Fit Adventure is available today.

King’s Bounty II

A follow-up to the highly influential 1990s game, King’s Bounty II is a tactical RPG that pits armies against each other. The choices you make in King’s Bounty II matter more than ever before, meaning you have to really think strategically. The game offers more characters whose ethics and affinities in the world are impacted by how you interact with them, which is informed by a character development system.

King’s Bounty II launches later this year in 2020.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC

The sixth wave fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a character from Arms. Since the fighter has some quirks that still need to be worked out, the release is being pushed back for more development time. The fighter will be announced and released in June.

Free Trial for Arms

Subscribers to Nintendo Online will be able to try out Arms in its entirety from March 26 to April 6.

Bravely Default II

Bravely Default II will include four new heroes in a brand new world. The game takes place on Excillant, a continent that contains five kingdoms. Seth, one of the new heroes, washes up on the shore of one of these kingdoms and meets Gloria, a princess who was forced to flee her kingdom. Together, they team up with Elvis and Adelle, two travelers studying a mysterious magical book.

In Bravely Default II, you will meet powerful enemies with asterisks, which let them take on jobs, like mage or thief. Like any other entry in the Bravely Default series, you must decide how to spend your brave points (BP) to defeat the enemies you encounter. You may either strategically hold back your attacks or attack multiple times in one turn – it all depends on how you stockpile your BP. Once you defeat an enemy with an asterisk, you may take their job and, even, combine it with other jobs, expanding the strategic challenges of the game.

A demo for Bravely Default II is available today. In the future, the developer will send out a survey asking for feedback as the game is finalized. The full version of Bravely Default II will be available later in 2020.

More Information on Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass

The first part of the expansion pass for Pokemon Sword and Shield, called the Isle of Armor, focuses on a dojo for Pokemon battles. At this dojo, trainers battle to master their skills and, if you are successful, you will receive the brand new legendary Pokemon Kubfu after finishing your training.

Then you’re granted permission to challenge the Tower of Two Fists and must pick between either the Tower of Darkness or the Tower of Waters. When you face these towers, you do it alone with just Kubfu. After completion, Kubfu will evolve into Urshifu, taking the Single Strike Style if you chose the Tower of Darkness or the Rapid Strike Style if you chose the Tower of Waters.

Additionally, as a reward for defeating the towers, your starter partner Pokemon will receive a Gigantamax form and a new G-Max move. Rillaboom will learn G-Max Drum Solo, Cinderace will learn G-Max Fire Ball, and Inteleon will learn G-Max Hydro Snipe. These G-Max moves will also ignore your opponents’ abilities completely.

This expansion will also include new outfit items and hairstyles, as well as new images for league cards so players can customize themselves even more. If players purchase the expansion pass before August 31, 2020, they will receive their own wearable version of Leon’s cap and tights.

The first expansion for Pokemon Sword and Shield, Isle of Armor, will be available before the end of June. The second, Crown Tundra, will be sometime in Fall 2020.
