With the world-changing right before our eyes and statewide shutdowns seemingly in everyone’s future, many comic book shops are being forced to close down for the time being. In an effort to do their part, along with the Comic Book Retailer COVID-19 Relief Fund, Mad Cave Studios announced that it will be delaying each of its debut series for the foreseeable future.
Mad Cave Studios is an independent comic book publisher based out of Miami, Florida that was established in 2014. Mad Cave has published five series, Battlecats, Midnight Task Force, Knights of the Golden Sun, Honor and Curse and Show’s End. Most recently the publisher has created a fundraiser to provide a one-time donation to comic shops across the U.S. to help mitigate health risks, keep their employees on payroll, and ultimately keep the lights on. The funds will be evenly distributed to those retailers in need, making sure that the most affected by this crisis receive help.
Now, in response to Diamond Comic Distributors’ announcement yesterday, Mad Cave will also be delaying any book shipping in April by about a month. They will be assessing the situation on a weekly basis and adjust accordingly. However, that doesn’t mean that Mad Cave is going anywhere. All of Mad Cave’s quality titles will be at the stores for readers once the lockdowns have been lifted and everyone is safe. While it can be hard to wait, everyone at Mad Cave, staff and creators alike, believe this is best for everyone.
You can still pick up Mad Cave titles that are out this week including Savage Bastards #2 and Wolvenheart #6. The two releases are available now at local comic book stores and online through ComiXology using our affiliate link.
